Sunday 1st December 2019 – Dry Training Day
This is the fifth time we have put on a dry training day. The aim is to help ensure you have the knowledge to train off the water as part of you winter training..
Who is it for: The day is open to all slalom paddlers of all ages, their parents and coaches working with Yorkshire Slalom.
Parents are requested to stay with paddlers especially as some of this information is to help you support them, and avoids repeated questions later on. (You may be able to join in some practical sessions if you wish and there is space)
Cost: Yorkshire Region are funding this course so it is FREE to attend for Yorkshire Paddlers and parents. All of the coaches and session leaders have volunteered their time. Without their skills, knowledge and dedication to the sport we wouldn’t be able to put this event on. They are happy to answer questions so don’t be afraid to ask.
Content: We are covering physical training that you will be able to do off the water to improve your strength and power for racing as well as looking at some other important areas (mental preparation, anti-doping).
We have tried to ensure much of the content is different to the previous year, so it is not just a repeat for those that attended last year.
Please be aware that sessions are a mix of theory and practical, although we will try and make all sessions as interactive as possible.
